Graduate degrees: Overview

Three degree options provide flexibility for those wishing to pursue graduate level study in the field of lighting:

• Master of Science in Lighting - The premier master's level degree in the field of lighting, the MS in Lighting is a two-year, 48-credit program that immerses students in lighting research and application, culminated by an original thesis project under the guidance of a faculty member.
  
  
• Master of Science in Architectural Sciences with a Concentration in Lighting - This nine-month, 30-credit degree is geared toward students who already have some experience in the lighting field and wish to broaden their knowledge in key areas of lighting study.
  
  
• Ph.D in Architectural Sciences with a Concentration in Lighting - The highest degree available in the field of lighting, this degree allows students from a wide range of backgrounds to undertake concentrated research in a select area of lighting study.

Prerequisites for all degrees include:

• A bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university
• At least two semesters of college-level math

A special project took LRC students to the equator in Ecuador.
