ASSIST recommends...Parking Lot Lighting

This volume of ASSIST recommends provides guidance about parking lot lighting, a growing market for LEDs.

This issue discusses a new recommendation for evaluating the performance of parking lot luminaires, following the concept of application efficacy.

January 2010 Revision: This revision adds new analyses and calculation methods for using the Luminaire System Application Efficacy (LSAE) metric to evaluate multiple luminaires per pole and multiple poles within a parking lot; and for correlating LSAE values to energy usage. The revision also includes information about trade-offs between optimizing the pole mounting height for a given luminaire and optimizing the LSAE value.

ASSIST's parking lot luminaire calculator performs all the calculations for you, following the metric described in Issue 3. Upload an IES file and enter your inputs to analyze the system application efficacy and overall cost of any parking lot luminaire.
