Moving new technologies into the marketplace is an important step in making effective use of them to benefit society. Yet, new technologies often have problems and barriers to their successful adoption.

At the LRC, the Lighting Transformations program conducts projects that speed the creation, entry, and penetration of new, energy-efficient lighting products into the commercial and residential markets, nationally and worldwide.

Lighting Research Center Develops Framework for Assessing Light Pollution - Scientists in the Lighting Research Center (LRC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have developed the first ever comprehensive method for predicting and measuring various aspects of light pollution.

Reducing Barriers to the Use of High-Efficiency Lighting Systems - The LRC conducted a three-year project exploring the problems, questions and potential solutions associated with the use of lighting controls and systems designed to reduce energy demand.
